Plastic artist and sculptor Jaume Plensa visited the EEBE, on November 26th, and also the BBT's facilities on the Diagonal-Besòs Campus.

On December 10th took place the III Forum: Entrepreneurial Engineers: The opportunity to create economic and social value in health, organized by Organized by the College of Graduated Engineers and Industrial Technical Engineers of Barcelona (ENGINYERS BCN), with the collaboration of EEBE.

It is a tradition for the BBT to celebrate the arrival of Christmas with a dinner, where they tasted dishes prepared by members of the group and exchanged Secret Santa gifts.

Students and faculties from Université de Cergy-Pontoise (France) and two researchers from Unviersité d'Orléans (France) visited the BBT in January.

The BBT, project leader in one of the four projects of the RIS3CAT strategic alliance to develop emerging 3D printing technologies: BASE3D.

Researchers from the BBT research group carried out the project "Maturation of biomimetic hydroxyapatite after implantation in vivo and in cell culture medium" at ALBA Synchrotron (Cerdanyola del Vallès).

The Bio-TUNE inaugural Symposium and Kick-Off Meeting took place on the 17-18th February, 2020, at the Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE), Barcelona (Spain).

The Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering Research Group, together with other Campus Diagonal Besòs' research groups and EEBE (Barcelona East School of Engineering) have made a donation of protective medical equipment to the ICS (Catalan Health Institute), to help fighting the Coronavirus crisis.

Dr. Joanna Sadowska, former BBT's PhD student, under the supervision of Dr. Maria-Pau Ginebra and Dr. Jordi Guillem-Martí, has been awarded the Julia Polak European Doctorate Award by the European Society of Biomaterials (ESB).

Dr. Jordi Guillem-Martí, BBT's MSCA researcher, is currently at Baker's lab (Department of Biochemistry, University of Washington, USA), in a 1 year research stay contemplated in his ENGAGE (MSCA) project, where he is currently designing proteins which are able to bind to the receptors in our cells to block the coronavirus interaction with these receptors and thus prevent infection and multiplication of the virus.
