Introduction

The Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering Research Group of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (CEM) of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) is a Consolidated Research Group by the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya) at the Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE).

The BBT belongs to the Barcelona Research Center in Multiscale Science and Engineering (BRCMSE), to the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre (CREB), to the UPC Innovation and Technology Center (CIT-UPC) de la UPC, both of them members of TECNIO, and collaborates with the Schools of Medicine and Odontology at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC).

The BBT's Scientific Director, Prof. Maria Pau Ginebra, ICREA Acadèmia Prize by the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya) to excellence in research in two consecutive editions (2008, 2013 and 2018), is also an Associated Researcher to the de Institut for Bioengineering of catalonia (IBEC).
