The Generalitat de Catalunya, through its call "Producte", has granted funding to BBT researchers, with Dr. Daniel Rodríguez-Rius as PI, to carry out their project "Porous titanium prosthesis with dual osteoinductive and antibacterial surface treatment for foot osteotomy surgeries".

The Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering Research Group, together with the companies AMES PM Tech Center and AMES Medical, as well as the CIM Center Private Foundation, have obtained funding in the "Public-Private Collaboration 2021" call, of the State Program to promote scientific-technical research and its transfer from the State Research Agency (AEI), to carry out the FireBone: Functionalized Inserts Reticular Bone project.
BBT has received funding from Agnecia Estatals de Investigación to carry out two projects in collaboration with companies and other universities, thanks to the call PLEC, Proyectos en líneas estrategicas 2022.
Projects "3DBoneStrong: Toward stronger 3D-printed calcium phosphate scaffolds for bone regeneration" (PIs Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra and Dr. Cristina Canal) and "DUALPLUS+: Process development and application of dual action smart coatings for use in evans- cotton wedges and dental implants" (PIs: Prof. José María Manero and Dr. Marta Pegueroles) have been selected by Agencia Estatal de Investigación to be funded over the next two years.

Nobel Biocare launches its new product, creos™ syntogain, a biocompatible synthetic porous (bone) substitute with a multidirectional interconnected porous structure for use in periodontal, oral and maxillofacial surgery. The new product is the result of many years of research by the Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering (BBT) Research Group of the UPC.
PSC's Fist secretary, Salvador Illa, visited our laboratories at UPC's Diagonal-Besòs Campus last Thursday. During his visit, we took the opportunity to briefly explain our research, and to exchange impressions on the situation of high-level research in our country.
