LLuis Oliver Cervelló presents his PhD Thesis

Lluis Oliver Cervelló, who holds a FI scholarship by AGAUR (University and Research Grant Management Agency) of the Generalitat de Catalunya, presents his Doctoral thesis at EEBE.

BBT PhD student Lluis Oliver-Cervelló presented his doctoral thesis on November 3rd, with a grade of Excellent (pending to know if it is Cum Laude).

The thesis, directed by Dr. Carles Mas-Moruno, revolves around the research of Dr. Oliver-Cervelló on "Novel multifunctional biomimetic peptides for bone tissue engineering".

The Tribunal was formed by Dr. Manuel Salmerón-Sánchez (University of Glasgow, UK), Dr. Amaia Cipitria (Biodonostia Health Research Institute, Spain) and la Dr. Ana Vallés (Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain).

During the completion of his doctoral thesis, Dr. Lluis Oliver-Cervelló carried out two research stays, both related to the Bio-TUNE project . In 2019, he spent three months with Dr.  Ada Cavalcanti-Adam (Growth Factor Mechanobiology group at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, Germany) in order to carry out a mechanistic study on peptide molecules and cells. On the other hand, at the beginning of 2022, he made a secondment with Dr. Siti Hawa Ngalim (Universiti Sans Malaysia) in order to delve more deeply into the same topic.
