Two "Proof of Concept" projects of the BBT receive funding from the Agencia Estatal de Investigación

Projects "3DBoneStrong: Toward stronger 3D-printed calcium phosphate scaffolds for bone regeneration" (PIs Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra and Dr. Cristina Canal) and "DUALPLUS+: Process development and application of dual action smart coatings for use in evans- cotton wedges and dental implants" (PIs: Prof. José María Manero and Dr. Marta Pegueroles) have been selected by Agencia Estatal de Investigación to be funded over the next two years.

Agencia Estatal de Investigación AEI has selected the projects "3DBoneStrong: Toward stronger 3D-printed calcium phosphate scaffolds for bone regeneration" (Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra and Dr. Cristina Canal) and "DUALPLUS+: Process development and application of dual action smart coatings for use in evans-cotton wedges and dental implants" (Prof. José María Manero and Dr. Marta Pegueroles) to be financed by the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation (PEICTI).

3DBoneStrong plans to bring printable and self-curing hybrid inks, which contain biocompatible polymers such as polycaprolactone, to the market . The inks wer previously developed in the AEI's ENABLE project.

DUALPLUS+, on the other hand, aims to design and develop a prototype prosthesis and a bioactive dental implant with antibacterial properties that currently do not exist on the market
