UPC celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Innova Program

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) celebrated 20 years of entrepreneurial spirit with an event held last week,  on November 22, at the Auditori of the School of Engineering Barcelona Est (EEBE).

The event, which was attended by Dr. Maria-Pau Ginebra, Director of the BBT and President of Mimetis Biomalerials, was attended by the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, M.H.Sr. Quim Torra, the Rector of the UPC, Francesc Torres, professor emeritus of UPC Francesc Solé Parellada, promoter and former director of the Innova Program, and Alfons Cornella, Director of Infonomia.

During the last 20 years, under the umbrella of this program that promotes innovation and technological springboard, 330 companies have been set up (spin-offs and start-ups), 80 of which are participating by  UPC, 4,500 work places have been generated, more than 500 patents have been filed and 223 technologies have been licensed.
