The BBT joins the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Dr. Cristina Canal from BBT participated in the Memorial Day of the International Women's Day for Science, held on February 11th at the facilities of the Diagonal-Besòs Campus of the UPC.

Concurring with the Commemoration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th, and throughout the week, the UPC organized a series of actions to promote the professional career of women, put in value the work carried out by women in science, technology and engineering and to bring the polytechnical studies to girls, through the holding of workshops, workshops, visits and talks open to different groups.

The launching of these activities took place on February 8th in the School of Engineering of East Barcelona (EEBE), with more than 170 of primary, secondary and high school female students of Sant Adrià de Besòs and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, who knew first hand what are the engineering projects in which the female students of the EEBE participate.

Three days later, on Monday, February 11th,EEBE's female scientifics presented to various groups of students of primary, secondary and baccalaureate, the basic research that is done in the Besòs Diagonálale Campus, and of which they are responsible. Among others, Dr. Cristina Canal, IP of the ERC APACHE project, gave a talk and showed to the students various techniques that can be carried out in our laboratories and which contribute to the advance of science and the improvement of our current society.
