Tània Vilella, a PhD student at BBT and CIEFMA, and Jan Grzelak, a postdoctoral researcher working at ERC BAMBBI project, are currently undertaking two research stays in Sweden and the UK, respectively.

Two members of the BBT research group are currently in Europe, carrying out two research stays at collaborating universities, in order to learn new techniques and advance their research.

PhD student Tània Vilella, co-supervised by Dr. Daniel Rodríguez-Rius from BBT and Dr. Gemma Fargas from CIEFMA (with a scholarship from the Barcelona Center for Research in Multiscale Science and Engineering  (CCEM) of the UPC), has traveled to Östersund (Sweden), to the Sports Tech Research Center of Mid Sweden University, at the Additive Manufacturing and Materials research group, led by Prof. Lars-Erik Rännar. There, under the supervision of Dr. Carlos Botero, she will 3D print biocompatible shape memory alloys, using EBM. Tània arrived on 10/03/2025 and will be in Sweden until 10/06/2025.

Postdoctoral researcher Jan Grzelak, meanwhile, spent a week in the microbiology laboratories of the Bristol Dental School at the University of Bristol (UK). Under the supervision of Prof. Bo Su and Dr. Angela H Nobbs, Dr. Grzelak aimed to investigate the bactericidal effect of his calcium phosphate nanotopographies.
