Miguel Mateu, PhD in Biomedical Engineering

Dr. Miguel Mateu, a doctoral student at the BBT under the auspices of the ERC APACHE project, presented his doctoral thesis on the "Evaluation of biological effects of atmospheric plasmas in bone cancer", co-directed by Dr. Cristina Canal and Dr. Juan Tornín.

BBT PhD student Miguel Mateu defended his Doctoral Thesis, Evaluation of the Biological Effects of Atmospheric Plasmas on Bone Cancer, co-directed by Dr. Cristina Canal and Dr. Juan Tornín (ISPA), on June 13, 2022 at EEBE.

The thesis panel was formed by Dr. Jaume Mora (IRSJD), President, el Dr. Carles Mas-Moruno (BBT-UPC), Secretary and Dr. Angela Privat-Maldonado (University of Antwerp), Vocal.

Dr. Mateu was awarded a FI Doctoral Fellowship by Generalitat de Catalunya and, after 4 years of intense research, he successfully obtained the PhD title.

During his doctoral thesis, he carried out a research stay at INSERM (Nantes, France), to carry out in vivo studies related to the APACHE project, at Dr. Pierre Layrrolle's laboratories.
