Meritxell Molmeneu, Head of Laboratories at BBT, participated as a speaker in a conference dedicated to connecting materials science with the real-world needs of society and industry at the EEBE.

On February 4th, as part of the "Materials and Society" conference cycle, Meritxell Molmeneu, Head of Laboratories at the BBT and Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (CEM), delivered a lecture titled: "From the lab to the company: real experiences solving industrial problems."

During her presentation, Meritxell shared her expertise in technology transfer, highlighting how academic research and the use of modern laboratories has become essential tools for solving complex challenges in the industrial sector. Through practical case studies, she emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between scientific experimentation and commercial/industrial applications to meet current market demands.

The "Materials and Society" conference was held at the Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE) as part of Materials Week. This initiative aims to highlight the role of advanced materials in sustainable development, health, and technology, while fostering dialogue between the academic world and society.

This activity was funded by the project "Educational Revolution in Materials Science and Engineering: Active Methodologies and Innovative Projects (RevCEM)," led by Prof. Emilio Jiménez and featuring numerous members of the BBT. This project is committed to transforming education in the field of materials by promoting methodologies that directly connect students with real-world problem-solving and innovative projects.
