Four BBT researchers are among the most cited Spanish female scientists in the world
Oct 04, 2024
The third edition of the ranking of female researchers from Spanish and international institutions prepared by the CSIC highlights four researchers from the BBT (Maria-Pau Ginebra, Cristina Canal, Montserrat Español and Maria Godoy-Gallardo), and 138 from the UPC. The ranking includes all Spanish women scientists who have an H index equal to, or higher than, 18.
Four BBT female researchers, and 138 affiliated with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), are among the 9,765 scientists included in the third edition of the ranking of outstanding Spanish women doing research worldwide. The ranking, recently updated, is drawn up annually by the Cibermetrics Lab of the Superior Council of Scientific Research (CSIC).
Prof. Maria Pau Ginebra is BBT's and UPC's researcher with the best position in the ranking, standing out in 129th place, with an H-index of 73 and 19,122 citations. Second is Dr. Cristina Canal in position 2,345 (X-Index of 34 and 4,151 quotes), Dr. Montserrat Español in position 4.871 (H-Index of 25 and 2.681 quotes), and last but not least, Dra. Maria-Godoy Gallardo, in position 8,355, with an H-index of 19 and 1,653 quotes at the end of June 2024.
The ranking ranks in descending order the scientists who have an H-Index equal to or greater than 18 on their Google Scholar profile, and as a second measure of categorization, it also considers the number of citations they have received up to the date of the ranking. H-index is a measure of research impact that takes into account the quality and quantity of citations of a given person's scientific articles.
