Dr. Mas-Moruno, granted with a MAT2017 project

BBT researcher, Dr. Carles Mas-Moruno, has obtained funding from MINECO to carry out the MIMESIS project: Biomimetic multifunctional surfaces: a new biomolecular strategy to control the cellular response in regenerative therapies.

Dr. Mas-Moruno has been awarded at the MAT2017 call of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness to carry out his MIMESIS research project: Multifunctional biomimetic surfaces: a new biomolecular strategy to control the cellular response in regenerative therapies.

The main objective of MIMESIS is the development of new multifunctional surfaces that mimic the necessary microenvironment for bone regeneration, combining mimetic growth factors and binding molecules to integrins.

The project proposes an ambitious and multidisciplinary approach, ranging from the design and synthesis of peptidomimetics (BMPs) to the development of multifunctional platforms, as well as the functionalization of various biomaterials.
