Dr. Irene Lodoso goes on a research stay at the AM4Life Competence Center

Dr. Irene Lodoso, a postdoctoral researcher with a PCI grant from the Spanish Research Agency (AEI), has conducted a brief research stay at the AM4Life Competence Centre (UPPSALA University, Sweden), in the laboratories of Prof. Cecilia Persson, head of the "BioMaterial Systems" research group.

During her 1-month stay in Uppsala, Dr. Lodoso has carried out her project on "Assessing capability of fabrication of CDHA scaffolds by DLP printing", whose objective was to obtain ceramic scaffolds with concave porosity by digital light processing (DLP) printing.

As a proof of concept, she mixed a printable hydrogel with our self-setting calcium phosphates in order to 3D print scaffolds with complex and concave geometries.
