AMES Biomedical has recently received the Best Sintered Part Award 2024 by the European Powder Metallurgy Association for their OsteoSinter® EVANS and COTTON wedges®, developed in collaboration with the BBT and used for the correction of foot deformities

AMES Biomedical, a Catalan company working on the manufacturing and sale of implantable products for traumatology and veterinary medicine and other biomedical devices, has recently received the prestigious Best Sintered Part Award 2024 by the European Powder Metallurgy Association for their OsteoSinter® EVANS and COTTON wedges®.

These products, partly developed within the AMES-UPC Chair that the biomedical company holds with the BBT since 2018, are based in a biocompatible metallic material with a porous structure, with mechanical properties similar to those of human bone and excellent biocompatibility. This has been achieved with the development of a space holder technique for titanium and a process that allows the titanium to be sintered without oxidation or loss of mechanical properties.
