The BBT helds its Annual Internal Conference and the 6th Meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center

The Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering research group presents its research lines, active projects and scientific objectives during its Annual Internal Conference and the 6th Meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center

The BBT held its Annual Internal Conference last January, 27th. During the meeting, Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra, Director of the Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering research group, presented to the members all its research lines, the scientific objectives for 2017, its scientific production and the ongoing projects.

Afterwards, Engineering Services Director, Dr. José-María Manero, presented the growing objectives for the division and the main services offered to companies and other clients.

Finally, during the second part of the meeting, all the members of the BBT took part in a Brainstorming in order to improve the dinamics, communication and processes of the group. The last part of the meeting was a special Trivia game, with specific questions for the BBT. From the impact index of Acta Biomaterialia to culture questions, or anecdotes.

On March 23th took place the  6th Meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center (CREB). The BBT research group welcomed the members of CREB to their new facilities at the Campus Diagonal Besòs (Barcelona).

Prof. Ginebra, Directora of BBT, Welcomed the attendants and the seniors members presented the different research lines of the group (Calcium Phosphates Based Materials, Dr. M. Español; APACHE: Atmospheric Pressure plAsma meets biomaterials for bone Cancer Healing, Dr. C. Canal; Surfaces Functionaliztion with Biomolecules, Dr. C. Mas; Biomaterials for Cardiovascular Applications, Dr. M. Pegueroles; Biomaterials and Bacteria, Dr. D. Rodríguez; and Metallic Porous Structures, Dr. E. Rupérez).

Once the first part of the meeting was finished, there was a coffe-break and two tours for the attendants: a visit to the BBT facilities (which included a biomaterials 3D printing demonstration) and a tour to the laboratories of the Barcelona Research Center in Multiscale Science and Engineering.
