Gemma Rosell i Romero Prize for graduate Maria Gelabert

Maria Gelabert, who carried out her final degree project at BBT, was awarded the Gemma Rosell and Romero Prize, which rewards students who devote a part of their time to biomedical research.

Maria Gelabert, student at the Biotechnology Degree of the UB, won the Gemma Rosell and Romero Prize in the 2017 call, thanks to her final degree work "Mutation of the Heparin Binding II of fibronectin domain: generation of a RGD sequence to guide the response of mesenchymal stem cells, "directed by Dr. Jordi Guillem from BBT (UPC).

The Prize, which was born in 2005 with the intention of rewarding university students who devote some of their time to do research in biomedicine despite the difficulty of combining study and research, has reached its 12th edition.

The prize is awarded with € 1,000 and the possibility of publishing the winning research work in the journal of the Societat Catalana de Biologia. Precisely, this award is aimed at the dissemination of research in biomedicine by the candidates among the university community, giving the opportunity to all students to discover the world of research through the presentations made by their own colleagues.
